Due to new contract awards we have an opportunity for a Civils Supervisor to join our growing team!

ABOUT THIS ROLE

Reporting to the Civils Manager, you will supervise the Civil engineering function of HGC for your designated area(s).  You will manage the Civils teams and Sub Contractors to ensure the works completed are to the highest standard and zero defects are reported. Pre-start meetings with HGC teams, contractors and the local authority to capture information and ensuring all prestart works are captured and documented to ensure compliance against the code of practice. HThis is an exiting opportunity to join a company with major clients in the telecommunications industry; UPP, Gigaclear, National Grid and CityFibre.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensure all civils activities are undertaken to the required legal and quality standards consistently delivering in line with the business expectations, exceeding our core values of Quality, Partnership and Integrity. Ensuring Safety is at the forefront of everything we do and the teams have the right equipment to complete the job safely and on time. Oversee all Civils delivery activities working closely with the Fibre Supervisor and project Coordinators to plan, install and sign off all work activities. Walk off all completed jobs with the Streetworks teams and contractors ensuring all CVI’s for additional works are agreed on site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead by example as an ambassador for the HGC Group and to maintain professional integrity as a manager
  • Supervision of the day-day streetworks tasks at various locations
  • Complete walk outs with local LA’s and civils teams to ensure correct scope of works is identified and any risks are identified and managed
  • Sign off completed works for invoicing
  • Keep up to date with all legislation requirements and changes to process – HAUC and NRSWA
  • Ensuring zero FPN’s
  • Ensure the Streetworks teams are agile and robust to deliver for multiple clients
  • Complete remeasures to ensure consistency in job packs vs cost
  • Supervision of contractors
  • Health and Safety audits and driving the correct behaviours within the team and contractors
  • Support the project team with updating them on new and improve standards within the industry so the business can adjust accordingly
  • Always drive to deliver and exceed the customer’s expectations
  • ERS – Emergency Restoration Service 24/7 call out.
  • Providing leadership and mentoring the the Civils teams to ensure all operatives are trained and compliant
  • Excellent communication internally and with clients
  • Understanding and supporting client deliverables
  • Supporting tender applications

Required Experience & Skills

  • Significant Civils delivery experience in telecoms or infrastructure within the UK
  • Proven experience of duct laying, box building & blockage clearance methods to BT/PIA
  • Excellent communicator

  • Excellent health & safety knowledge and track record
